Miss Lilly Live...

Miss Lilly has been rescued from her capsized castle. She is now snoozing on Blake's pillows.

So spoiled...

...but we love her.  :)

Nine months down...

...and only three to go!

I am so happy I decided to do this project, at least one picture a day for 365 days.  I have made it 9 full months, and only 3 months to go for 2010.

It is a terrific way to keep memories.

I look forward to continuing this project through 2011!

Goodbye September!

Goodbye September 2010.

This has been a great month full of adventures and fun. We have had some rough family spots, but they have only managed to make us stronger.

Thanks for all the great times!

Welcome October, we look forward to the new memories!  :)

"Oh my goodness, Houston, we have a problem!!"

"Miss Lilly, I am not Houston, I am mama.  Now what is your current crisis?"

"Mama, I ran quickly into my castle and I tipped it over!  Help!"

"I don't know Miss Lilly, looks rather comfy to me.  Why don't you just relax and take a doggy nap?"

Oh Diva, what are we going to do with you?  LOL :)

My 365...

The last day of September already, really?  One full month of home school down!  It has been a learning experience this first month that is for certain.  I love the flexibility and freedom, but above all, I love having my boys safe at home where mama can take care of them and teach them.

I have learned a lot this month.  Time is a very precious commodity.  If you do not prepare your day, and follow a schedule, home schooling becomes an exhausting proposition.  I would say I have gained a whole new respect for teachers, but I can not think of a single teacher I have met here in Idaho for Blake or Casey that would fall into that category.  Of course I hold all teachers up to a very high standard...I compare them to my mom.  Mom was an "amazing" teacher for over 30 years.  How awesome it would be to have her here with me teaching my children.  I hope she is looking down from heaven and is proud of me.  Daddy always said he wished I would have become a teacher like mom.  Well daddy, I have!  :)

Organization is the key to home schooling.  A separate color for each subject.  Thank goodness for color coding and delightful colored folders...with pockets!

That is all for today.  I hope you are all having a wonderful Thursday, last day of September!

Well I do have one more thing to say.  Meagan...Debbie...if you are reading this I have a question for you?  What are you afraid of?  You like to keep up with our life and read my blog yet you hide everything you have to say from us.  If you truly believe everything you have to say...why hide it?  What are you ashamed of?

There are several people in my life who want to read everything I have to say, yet they hide everything they have to say from us.  Speaks volumes of their character.

 Until next time...

Good Night...

Good night world.

Blake is definitely going to sleep well tonight after this very long day. He fell asleep the earliest he ever has, 8:00pm. He did wake up at 9:30pm and stumbled into the living room because he could hear that Garrett and Kori were visiting. He requested a cookie and is now fast asleep. :)

And good night from the diva as well...

Have a great tomorrow!

Miss Lilly Live...

"Hello world, Miss Lilly here."
"I know, I know, I am just about the cutest pup you have ever laid eyes upon.  Calm down."

"I wanted to update the world, I am feeling fabulous today!"

"That is all...goodbye."

My 365...

Happy Wednesday, September 29.  Hope your world is happy today.  :)

We had a very long night last night.  Blake was a bit anxious about his testing today so he had a tough time getting to sleep.  Despite his insomnia, he woke up bright eyed and ready to roll this morning.  We got to the testing center a bit early, so they were able to take him right back for his reading test.  He came out with a huge smile.  I asked him how he did?  "I am sure I got an A+ mom, that was a breeze!"  Yay Blake!  Afterwards he was treated to his favorite thing in the world, a Krispy Kreme Apple Fritter and some orange juice.

So where is Blake now, certainly not toiling away in his classroom, he says he deserves a day off, and I agree!  he has been working hard, and daddy is off today so they can spend the afternoon outside where they love to be.  They are going through boxes in the shed looking for treasures.

Now they are getting ready to take a long bike ride, their second favorite thing to do.  Fortunately for me daddy has almost as endless amount of energy as his son!

Until next time...

Good Night :)

We had a nice evening.  Jack made some delicious steak and corn on the cob, and Kori and Garrett stopped by for dinner.  It was a great way to end a busy Tuesday.

Blake had gone into the bedroom before dinner and did not want to talk to anyone because he is still upset about missing his brother Brandon, and is having a difficult time dealing with the anger he feels towards his sister.  I really hate that he and Casey have to put up with this garbage.  It is not fair to them.  The people involved in this drama go through life spreading their toxic lies and conflict and do not take into consideration the innocent casualties of their behavior.  Their lives are absolutely miserable, so they "try" to do everything they can to bring the whole world down to their level.  It is so obvious to everyone on the outside looking in yet they continue to be so painfully oblivious.  I refuse to let this affect my boys anymore.

When Garrett arrived he asked where Blake was and I told him.  Garrett went into the bedroom and next thing I know Blake is all excited and going outside to play with his big brother Garrett.

Garrett tied a rope onto a snow sled and was dragging Blake around the yard at high speeds!  It did not take long for Blake's sad mood to go away.  They had fun, then we all sat down for a great dinner.

After dinner Blake had a nice warm shower and is now tucked into bed with a good movie.  He has IRI testing in the morning, so I am glad he is feeling better about life.  I was worried that all the distractions this week would make it difficult for him to concentrate tomorrow.

I am so thankful for my great son Garrett and his girlfriend Kori.  They really truly care about the boys, and it shows.  We have an amazing family.  :)

Good night world!

My 365...

You know you are going to have a wonderful day when you wake up in the morning and find a lovely butterfly sitting on your keyboard.  No, it is not a real butterfly, I fluttered down from my bamboo plant sitting on top of my desk.  It was a nice surprise none the less.  :)

It has been a pretty amazing day so far.  Blake has been a little hesitant to get school work done, but after his favorite breakfast we were up and running.

We have to drive him into town tomorrow to take his IRI testing, so reading is the focus of the day.  He does really well with reading "if" it is something he is interested in.  Otherwise he finds the entire subject quite boring.

The boys are both feeling much better today about the drama we had to deal with yesterday.  I helped them to understand that the people we are dealing with in all of this crazy nonsense are not exactly the sharpest tools in the shed, so take it all with a grain of salt and consider the source.  There are too many other things in life that are important, exciting and positive so why waste it dealing with useless drama.  Their loss...our gain.  They agreed completely and it is back to life as we love it.

Until next time...

Good Night World :)

Blake is feeling very blue tonight...

Unfortunately he has a brother and a sister who are a huge disappointment to him.  No matter how much I tell him that it is not him, it is them, it does not make it any easier to understand.  He is very hurt and angry and unfortunately I can not fix it for him.  All I can do is love him and remind him how amazing I believe he is.

Then I double dog dared him NOT to smile.  "Don't you dare smile Blake!"

Works every time.  :)

Life is too short not to smile, and life is too short to deal with unstable people and permit them to hurt the people you love.  We will take it all in perspective, focus on the good things, and live a happy life.  There are people in this world that can't be helped...so be it.  Enough of the drama.

Sleep well world, I know we will!

Until next time...

Back to Normal

The puppers are back to normal again. Miss Lilly and Dozer can lay next to each other and calmly snooze.

Thank goodness!

Miss Lilly Live...

Miss Lilly is doing great today.  She is jumping and prancing around like her old self.  She has still not quite gotten her bark back, but I am sure her throat will feel better soon.

My 365...

Happy Monday, September 27.  Mondays are a lazy day around here.  I let the boys sleep in a little and we start school around noon.  They like to ease into the school week, and it gives me the opportunity to return client calls and set up my week's schedule as well.

My photo today is a picture of the Yarrow growing in the corner of the yard.  All the bright yellow color is gone now that spring is over, but it is still quite interesting to look at.

We had a good weekend this weekend.  It was restful and calm, and we enjoyed it.  The boys insisted that I reconnect with my son and his girlfriend, so I tried.  I was able to have a nice chat with his girlfriend on FaceBook, and opened the door to healing.  That is all we want, healing.  Hopefully one day I can sit down with my son and talk about everything that has happened between us and resolve all the negative.

They are expecting their first baby this winter and are very excited about that.  I know in my heart they will be amazing parents, that much I know for certain and I know my first grandchild will be loved and nurtured in an amazing way.  My son will be an amazing father, and his girlfriend an amazing mom.  That makes me very happy.  :)

Back to work for me!  I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead.

Until next time...

Miss Lilly Live...

"Hey Miss Lilly, how are you feeling today?"

"Oh mama, I am feeling a little better I guess."

"You want to come out of your castle and show me you can walk okay?"

"Sure, can you give me a piece of cheese?"

"Of course Miss Lilly!"

"Good girl!  Now let me put you on the bed...much more comfy than your Castle right now."

"Thank you mama."

"You're welcome baby puppers."  :)

I am happy to report that Miss Lilly is recovering nicely.  Thank you for all the sweet "Get well soon" emails.  The only thing still missing is her bark.  It sounds more like a sad "squeak", but I am sure she will be back to a full roar soon!

My 365...

Yesterday this plate of fruit had at least 3 more bananas and a half dozen peaches.

Darn those peaches were good!  :)  Blake and I enjoyed them thoroughly!  As for the fate of the bananas.  Blake tossed them into the blender with some milk and Oreo cookies to make a shake.  His first two attempts were quite yummy, but by the time he got to the third glass, he forgot to add a little sugar.  Not so great.  :P

I need to have a serious conversation with whomever controls the weather.  This is September 26, officially into the Fall season and it is a balmy 87 degrees.  What?  Hello, way too warm for me.  So bizarre this weather.  It almost feels like I am back in Texas.  I say "almost" because we don't have the horrid humidity and the air is so much cleaner here.  It is supposed to be warm the entire coming week.  That is a bit depressing actually, I want chilly back please.  Bring on a cold front!

Hope you are all having a delightfully "peaceful" Sunday.  :)

Until next time...

Such a LONG day...

This has been a very long tiring day, and I am glad it is almost over.  I never wish a Saturday to end quickly, but this one can be done already thank you very much.

My poor Blake has had a stomach ache all day for some reason.  When he is not feeling good, nothing is right with the world.  A little extra snuggle time always seems to help.  Casey is loading a new game on his computer for him, and that helped taking his mind off of his tummy for a while.  I hate it when my babies do not feel well.  :(

Then there is Miss Lilly.  I am glad we had her spayed, but I feel so bad that it was hard on her.  She has spent most of the evening curled in a tight ball in her crate shivering.

I finally coaxed her out a few minutes ago for some nice soft scrambled egg, and she scarfed it down.  Now if I can only get her to drink a little water I will fell less stressed about her.  She is so tiny I worry about her.

Tomorrow will be a better day.  I look forward to doing absolutely nothing!  Well absolutely nothing and lesson plans for the week.

Have a great evening.  :)

Miss Lilly is home from the vet.  Poor baby, I am not used to her being so quiet and still.  She still has some anesthesia floating through her system, but is otherwise doing well.  The vet said she did fine through the surgery and recovery.

Poor little peanut, I will be happy when she is back to her silly little self.  :)

Until then she will get a lot of hugs and TLC.

Welcome to Mommy plus Five

I am a work from home mom of five amazing children, and five beautiful grandchildren. Enjoying my 50's and all that life has to offer.

Time to start a new 365.

Thank you for stopping by! :)
