May 5, 2016 - Baby-bump Photo-Shoot

Brianna and Casey asked me to take the final baby-bump photos for them as baby Axel is due any day now.  Blake and I met them at Kathryn Albertsons Park, and we had a delightful time.

The weather was perfect, other than a few sprinkles every now and then, and the park was gorgeous! While we waited for Casey and Brianna to arrive, Blake ran through the forest, chasing animals with his camera.  It was hilarious!

At one point, I took Blake's camera and changed the shooting mode to manual.  He took off chasing after a rabbit, and crawled into the bushes to capture photos.  He came running out to show me his epic photos...and nothing!  The frames were black!
"OMG, mom, what happened to my pictures?"  I told him to check his settings, and he was furious!  "Newbie move son.  The first thing you do when you pick up a camera is check your settings!  Lesson learned!"

Don't worry, I was able to save his photos in post-processing, but it is an important lesson to learn if you are serious about photography.  ALWAYS check your setting!
When Brianna and Casey finally arrived, we had a good photo-shoot.  I had to work fast, as I did not want Brianna on her feet too long.  She really needs to rest up for the baby, but really wanted this last session in before Axel arrives.  And we got it done!

You can see all the photos in my Flikr Album by clicking *HERE*

Here are some of my favorite photos...

This is the engraved necklace I got Brianna for Christmas.  It has Axel's name, tiny feet and a May birthstone.  I thought she was so sweet to want to have it in the shoot.  <3

Blake captured a couple of amazing photos too.  And he got the settings right!  Good job, son. :)
He is an awesome photographer in the making!
Now we wait for that precious grandson of mine to make his appearance.  He has a HUGE family waiting to hug him and squeeze him and love him forever.  :)

Until next time...enjoy life, and be kind to one another.

Peace.

May 1, 2016 - Celebrating Family

Another weekend has come and gone, and great memories were made.  April ended on a great note, and May is off to a great start!

Casey came over after work on Friday to visit.  When I looked outside, he and Blake were working hard on Casey's truck.  They had all the cleaning supplies and vacuum cleaner outside.

I went out to join them and told Casey, "Aww honey, you are nesting!"  To which he replied, "Huh? Nesting? Nah mom...I am just detailing ma rig. Gotta get it ready for the baby."

Yep, son, you are nesting. :)

Casey is going to be the most amazing father!! That is one thing I am very proud of, I raised four amazing young fathers!

Friday evening I went to dinner with Garrett and Blake, and we had a wonderful time!  I love that my boys enjoy my company...I sure enjoy theirs.
Saturday we were invited to attend an amazing baby shower hosted by Brianna's mom and her entire family.  Brianna's mom did not miss a single detail.  The decorations were adorable, the company delightful and the food delicious!

Unfortunately, Jack had to work, but Blake and I were there, and Garrett and Genevieve showed up later to surprise Casey.  Casey was so thrilled to have big brother Garrett there.

They even had a little wedding cake for Casey and Brianna to celebrate their marriage.

We played fun games, Casey and Brianna got so many wonderful gifts, and it was great fun had by everyone!  You can see the full album of photos *HERE* in my Flikr Album.

I also made them another home movie to add to their collection.  :)

Thank you so much to Brianna's mom Brandi and all of her family for the amazing party.  It was wonderful to meet everyone, and come together to celebrate our Casey, Brianna and baby Axel who will be here any day now!

Life is good, and we are very blessed.

Until next time...enjoy life, and be kind to one another.

Peace.

April 28, 2016 - Denali, Week One!

Good hello friends, Denali here.

I have survived my first week with my new human family.

Things I have learned:

Miss Lilly still does not love me. For some reason I can not even begin to fathom, she does not like her ears and or tail being bitten. Here all this time I thought she was a life-like dog toy, she is actually a real life dog!  When Miss Lilly says "NO!" it is "NO!"  If I do not get the message, I will lose my face.  Got it.  Maybe...

Chickens are friends, not food.  Oh and their poop taste delightful.

Mama's sock monkey is friend...not food.  Who knew?

When mama reaches down to hug me, and her shirt is hanging in front of my face, DO NOT BITE!  There are boobies in there, and apparently they are not fond of sharp puppy teeth.  I may never get my hearing back.  I did not know such terrifying noises could come out of mama?  Yikes!

I have mastered the stairs!  Yay!  No more smashing of my beautiful face into the hardwood when I lose control coming down.  I've got this!

I bark when I have to poop...we are still working on the pee.  I was raised in a barn after all.  Speaking of poop, I did have access to the garden/chicken side of the yard because I am so small and floofy and beautiful.  But because I poop SO much, mama has decided I must poop on the dog side of the yard.  Honestly, I don't know what the big deal is?

I have been introduced to a crate.  CURSES, CRATE, I HATE YOU!!!  Mama has decided that sleeping in her bed is probably not a great idea for a future 150-pound canine, so she set up my "den"...which is code-word for "torture chamber."  My humans have also discovered that if mama leaves the room, I go bat-shit crazy, and bark and cry like my tail is on fire.  Hmmm...I love her, so what is the big deal?  She said something about..."Oh great, now I can never leave the house again."  Well duh, I could have told her that!

As for leaving the house...every morning and afternoon I get to leave the house.  Mama pulls out my collar, and I know it is road-trip time. Time to go pick up my boy from school.  I am not such a fan of car rides, though.  My human Garrett is convinced that I must have been sedated on the car ride home from Washington as I was soooo good.  Now you put me in the car and I am all over the place!!  Ha, the joke is on them.  :)

If you feel so inclined, go ahead, spend a ton of money on expensive dog toys.  I will destroy them in zero seconds flat.  A cheap water bottle, however...I love those!  I can bat them around the room like a soccer ball, and they make a crinkle noise.  And a rope, a nice, thick, marine-grade rope, is my friend.  Love it!

Being nocturnal is a-okay.  It is a Great Pyrenees characteristic after-all.  Being nocturnal while sharing a room with mama...nope!  Night is for sleep, day is for fun.  Got it!

I ploop, and everyone thinks it is adorable.  What the heck is a ploop you ask?  I will be in the middle of walking, playing, eating or drinking, and my big, floofy body collapses to the floor.  "Ploop!"  I sometimes fall asleep with my head in the water bowl too.  Oh well, just call me Ploop Mc-Stuffins!

I am growing, I am adjusting, I am healthy, I am happy.  My human family keeps saying how much they love me!  It sounds something like this...

"Oh my gawd!  I forgot how much work a puppy is!!!  He is such a little sh*t!!"

See, they love me.  :)

Until next time...enjoy life, and be kind to one another.

Peace.

April 24, 2016 - Sunday is Family Night!

We enjoyed another delightful family night on Sunday.  I prepared some delicious chicken and pulled pork flautas, rice, beans, guacamole and salsa.  For desert we had watermelon.

Genevieve came over, as did Casey and Brianna.  They brought Ducati too.

It was a delightful evening.  I love my family!  We are very blessed. :)

Casey practicing his "Goofy Daddy" faces.  Baby Axel is due any day now!
Blake getting some "Big Sis" advice from Genevieve about girls.  Thanks Ginny!
Garrett is in love with Denali bear.

Blake is in love with Denali too.
 Ginny and Garrett. <3

 Beautiful Brianna and Casey.
We also introduced Denali to the hens.  He did great!

The hens are very protective of Jack.  They made sure Denali knew that daddy belongs to them!

Until next time...enjoy life, and be kind to one another.

Peace.
